ACTUS REUS is a 75-minute experimental theatrical performance work. It is the creation of an ensemble of trans, queer, and working-class artists. The piece is a symbiosis of spoken word, movement, live sound, and expressionist design used to confront the cannibalistic logic of capitalism. Through the lens of a dystopian and surreal aesthetic, ACTUS REUS literalizes the violence of class struggle and asks: When our survival demands that we consume each other, what remains of our humanity?

The project is having its world premiere at The Atrium Space - a queer owned community based space - on April 24th, 2026 - 07:30pm EST; check back for RSVP link going live 02/25/2026.

Soft Abilez
Reya

Soft Abilez (she/her) - model, actress, and lead singer of the band "Burnt Mirror Beauties." Soft is a transgender Latinx woman from Los Angeles whose range spans from the New York Fashion Week catwalk to acting screen credits on the popular TV show Dexter.

Elian Rivera
Cain

Elian is a Puerto Rican Actor from NYC and recent graduate of Fordham University, Lincoln Center's theatre program. He is excited to join this cast and be a part of this team! Elian loves working on new projects! When he's not on-stage, he can be found rock climbing or at an AMC. Some of his past credits include: Art (Chain Theatre), Dime Novel (Chain Theatre), Sins of Sor Juana (Fordham Theatre), and Macbeth (LAMDA); Upcoming: Kirkwood Falls (StarCrossed Studios). He would like to thank his parents, family, and Fiona for their love and support!

Jolimar Perez Neris
Paz

Jolimar Pérez Neris (she/her) is a multi-hyphenate Afro-Latina artist based in NYC. She obtained her B.F.A. from NYU Tisch and is a graduate of the Atlantic Acting School. Recent credits include Paulina in Mariposa (SheATL), Kitty/Lady Anne in Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice (NYU/Atlantic), and Daisy/Little Anna in Anatomy of a Suicide (Fine Line Theatre Company/Atlantic). She’s supa excited to collaborate and continue to grow as an artist. When she’s not acting, you can catch her eating tacos or traveling to a new city! De RD pal’ mundo!

Richard Diamond
Baal

Richard Diamond (He/They) is a performer based in NYC and he’s thrilled to be working on Actus Reus. His NYC credits include: A Eulogy For Roman (SpinCycle NYC), Telegrammers: An American Musical (CSC 24hr nationals), Mater Familias (The Tank), A Truly Original Idea (East Village Underground Theater), Jack and The Harp (New York Theater Festival), The Legend of Rachel (New York Theater Festival), Antigone (Motive Brooklyn), and Die Off (Astoria New Play Festival). Richard is a current member of The Greenhouse Ensemble and was a member of the 2025 24hr nationals cohort. He earned his BFA in Acting from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2022. Find him at:

Ovide Van Der Vlist
Ensemble

Ovide van der Vlist (she/her) is a Dutch actress, writer and producer from Amsterdam with extensive experience in theater, film and improv, plus the ability to occasionally crack a joke or two. Her roots give her a grounded presence while her curiosity and fascination with human behavior allows her to dive deep into the swamp of emotions each character brings.

Gabriela Barrett
Ensemble

Gabriela is a Jewish-Peruvian actress based in Brooklyn by way of Philly. As a stage actor she has starred Off-Broadway at Soho Playhouse, workshopped new experimental musicals, and has performed at 54 Below and Walnut Street Theatre. On screen she has acted in award-winning independent films, upcoming theatrical releases, and modelled for Penguin Random House and Comcast. University of Michigan alum.

Jomack Miranda
